01 / OUR STORY

A local beginning.
A wider purpose.

Two young owners, lawn mowing, snow removal and a lot to learn. That was JPPM in 2020.

Graeme and Matthew were 19 and 20 when they officially registered the company. Graeme was born in Edmonton and grew up in a military family, living across Canada before his father’s retirement brought them back to Alberta. St. Albert became home when he was 12.

After graduating high school with honours, Graeme spent two years in the workforce. Managing at Montana’s sparked a lasting interest in business and people. Matthew, originally from British Columbia, brought an operations-focused skill set to the partnership.

The first employee joined in 2021, the same year landscaping began. Since then, JPPM has grown into hardscaping, decks, fences, renovations and broader property improvements alongside recurring care. The aim is to take on more responsibility while keeping accountability to each customer.

04 / PEOPLE & PROPERTIES

Residential at our core.
Commercial in our future.

Homeowners gave JPPM its start. Those relationships remain important as we develop dedicated processes for both residential and commercial operations.

Residential

Personal relationships, recurring care and homeowner projects. We might mow the lawn all summer, clear the driveway through winter and return for a patio or fence.

Commercial

Structured service, documentation and property-management requirements. We plan around the site, its users and the work a manager needs to coordinate.

05 / OWNERS WHO ARE STILL INVOLVED

The people you deal with
know the work.

Ownership remains involved in day-to-day operations. Our employees and crew leads run recurring summer routes while the owners assess properties, quote work and oversee the operation.

CO-OWNER / COMPANY & CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

Graeme

Estimating, customer relationships, property assessments, project work and company development. Graeme stays closely connected to both the property and the customer’s plans.

CO-OWNER / FIELD OPERATIONS

Matthew

Operations, field execution and crew and service coordination. Matthew remains hands-on with the work and the people carrying it out.

During winter, the owners operate routes alongside employees and generally handle some of the larger routes themselves. For landscaping and construction, owner involvement increases: projects generally begin with an in-person assessment and a personalized scope and estimate.

06 / THE SYSTEM BEHIND RECURRING SERVICE

A visit is part of
a bigger system.

Recurring service connects property information, routing, crew instructions and reporting. Job forms record the work, site conditions and concerns that need follow-up.

The service documentation you receive is the same operational information we review internally.

Customers have a service record. Management can review that same information, check the work and follow up on issues. The record connects what happened in the field with the people responsible for the service.

  1. 01

    Property setup

    Areas, access and property information.

  2. 02

    Scheduling & routing

The agreed program and route plan.

  3. 03

    Crew instructions

Scope and site details for the team.

  4. 04

    Service

The visit and work at the property.

  5. 05

    Job report

    Work, conditions and issue documentation.

  6. 06

    Management review

    Internal checks and follow-up.

  7. 07

    Customer record

The same service information sent to you.

ONE RECORD. SHARED ACCOUNTABILITY.

Field documentation gives the customer and JPPM a common reference when something needs attention.

07 / SAFETY IN THE WORKFLOW

Safety should be documented,
not just promised.

Crews complete daily safety documentation and property-specific hazard assessments. Changing conditions and new hazards are reported where required, helping the team communicate what needs attention before work begins.

JPPM maintains WCB-Alberta coverage and business insurance. Current coverage documentation is available on request.

08 / TECHNOLOGY & HUMAN ACCOUNTABILITY

Technology helps us
stay organized.
People remain accountable.

We’re still a growing small business. During working hours, ownership and management may be visiting properties, estimating, supervising crews or working on projects.

AI-assisted call handling helps answer calls and capture requests when the team can’t immediately pick up. Those requests connect into our operating workflow for review and follow-up by JPPM.

  1. Customer request
  2. Information captured
  3. Added to our workflow
  4. Reviewed by JPPM
  5. Follow-up

Technology supports the relationship.
It doesn’t replace it.

09 / A CHAPTER THAT CHANGED THE COMPANY

Growing through
setbacks.

Graeme’s sister Raelyn served as a maintenance crew lead and carried substantial day-to-day responsibility at JPPM. Her contribution remains part of the company’s story.

A serious workplace injury took her away from that role, creating a personal and operational setback for a small company. JPPM continues to recover and rebuild from that period.

The experience reinforced the importance of training, documented systems, safety processes and communication. Building an organization that can support its people through changing circumstances means sharing knowledge and responsibility across the team.

10 / REPUTATION & ACCOUNTABILITY

Reputation is earned
one property at a time.

We value reviews and feedback because they tell us how our work is experienced. We want to hear what went well and what needs attention. People make mistakes, equipment can fail, weather affects operations and projects can reveal unexpected conditions. How we communicate and respond matters.

Honesty

Tell customers what is actually happening.

Accountability

Own concerns that require attention.

Resolution

Make a genuine effort to correct problems and learn from them.

“Excellent work and very professional. Quote was reasonable and the team worked really hard to get the job done.”
Chris Wells Customer feedback previously published on the JPPM website

11 / STILL BUILDING

Locally built.
Looking ahead.

Our winter operation passed 100 properties in 2025–26. Summer maintenance is a smaller division, and we’re actively growing it with the organization that has supported winter service.

The next stage includes continued investment in employee training, systems, documentation, equipment and capability, stronger residential and commercial operations, and increasingly complex projects.

We’re proud to have built JPPM in St. Albert—the community where Graeme grew up and where the company found its footing. We’re still building, with the same personal accountability that got us here.
