A deck creates room to sit, gather and move between the home and yard. A fence shapes privacy, access and the edge of the property. The right project begins with how you will use the space, then brings the layout, materials and construction details into one scope.
JPPM reviews new construction and replacement projects for residential and commercial properties. A deck or fence can stand alone, or be coordinated with landscaping and hardscaping. We discuss the existing site and the work involved before presenting a proposal.

Start with the activities the deck needs to support: a table, seating, a barbecue area or a comfortable route into the yard. The size and arrangement should work with door locations, stairs, changes in level and the remaining outdoor space. A larger footprint is not automatically a better fit for the property.
Treated wood and composite decking are both options. We can discuss Fiberon, TimberTech and Trex products, with the selected collection and availability confirmed for the project. Height, material selection, stairs, railings and site access affect the project. Replacement work may also include demolition and disposal. We identify the included construction and discuss any required design, municipal review or permit responsibilities in the scope. The detailed deck page explains the decisions that shape the quote.

Wood fencing can provide privacy and a defined backdrop for the landscape. Vinyl fencing offers a clean manufactured finish, while chain-link fencing provides a more open boundary. The right choice depends on how the property is used, the desired appearance, gate access and the needs of people or pets using the yard. We discuss those priorities before recommending a scope.
Fence length, height, corners, gates, ground conditions and removal of an existing fence affect the work. Confirm the intended property boundary before installation; an existing fence is not proof of a legal lot line. Gates should support daily use and access for equipment, bins or other practical needs.

A deck or fence changes how the rest of the yard functions. Paths need useful connections, garden beds need room to grow and drainage needs to work with the finished levels. Planning these relationships together helps avoid a beautiful feature that creates awkward access or additional work later.
We can discuss landscaping, patios, pavers, sod and planting alongside outdoor construction. Each part receives a defined scope so you can choose what to complete now and what to plan for later. Recurring mowing, bed care and seasonal cleanups can then support the landscape around the finished project.
A useful proposal describes the work at your property, including preparation and finishing details. Share photos or approximate measurements if you have them; we can discuss what else is needed.
Explain the desired footprint, privacy and access. Identify doors, gates, furniture areas and existing features you want to retain.
Discuss slopes, access and demolition. Materials, dimensions and the construction details need to match the agreed project rather than an assumed standard package.
Confirm included work, disposal and any separate trade, design or permit responsibilities. Scheduling is discussed after the project requirements and approval process are understood.
