LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION / ST. ALBERT

Artificial Turf Installation in St. Albert.

Artificial turf installation in St. Albert, with excavation, base preparation, drainage and edge details selected for the space and intended use.

A CONSTRUCTION PROJECT / NOT JUST A SURFACE

Start underneath the turf.

Artificial turf can be an option for a yard, side area, high-wear space or other suitable residential and light commercial application. The visible product is only one part of the installation. The existing surface, drainage, grade, base and edges all affect what must be built before the turf is laid. JPPM reviews the site and the intended use, then describes the excavation, preparation and finishing work in a property-specific quote.

We do not present artificial turf as a universal replacement for natural grass. It may suit one area while sod, planting, rock or another material is better elsewhere. Tell us how the space will be used, whether pets or heavy foot traffic are involved, and what sits beside the proposed turf area. Those details help shape the right installation scope.

THE BUILD / 01

Prepare, install, finish.

01 / REVIEW

Understand the existing area.

We look at the surface being replaced, nearby structures and hardscapes, access, low points and the path water takes across the property. A worn lawn may point to shade, traffic or drainage conditions that matter to the new installation. An estimate based only on area can miss the excavation, removal and correction required before the finished surface is appropriate. The quote identifies what JPPM is proposing for the actual site.

02 / GROUNDWORK

Build a suitable base.

Artificial turf installation can require removing existing material, excavating, shaping and compacting a specified base, and setting the finished grade. The system and depth depend on the site and product chosen. Edges and transitions need to meet patios, walks, beds or fences cleanly. We discuss the preparation and drainage approach as part of the project rather than promising a fixed method for every yard.

03 / INSTALLATION

Finish for the intended use.

The accepted scope identifies the turf product, installation area and finishing details. A pet area, side yard or ornamental lawn may have different considerations for cleaning, traffic and drainage. We review how the surface will be maintained and what it can realistically do. Artificial turf can reduce mowing in that area, but it still requires appropriate care and does not solve an underlying property drainage problem by itself.

THE WHOLE LANDSCAPE

Make the new surface belong.

Artificial turf can sit beside garden beds, decorative rock, concrete curbing, a patio or natural lawn. The boundary between those materials affects the finished appearance and day-to-day use. JPPM can discuss related grading, edging and landscape work in the same proposal when the project calls for it. If you are deciding between turf and new sod, we can review the specific area and quote the selected approach rather than assuming one material fits every space.

Send the property address, approximate dimensions, photos, intended use and any known drainage or access concern. We will assess whether the work fits the property and define a practical construction scope. Formal landscape design or specialized engineering, where required, is a separate professional service.

GOOD TO KNOW

Before installation.

Can artificial turf go over my existing lawn?

We review the current surface first. A proper installation may require removal, excavation, base work and grading; it is not assumed to be a layer placed over existing turf.

Will artificial turf fix a wet yard?

Not automatically. Water movement and low areas should be assessed before installation. Some conditions need separate drainage work or specialized input.

Can you quote natural sod instead?

Yes. We can discuss sod installation or replacement as an alternative for the property.

COMPARE THE ALTERNATIVES

Choose for the use.
Plan the ongoing care.

Shade, concentrated traffic and narrow access can favour different landscape finishes. Compare artificial turf with sod, planting or decorative rock for the intended use.

For pets, consider cleaning and drainage. Artificial turf reduces mowing but still requires debris removal and the selected manufacturer’s maintenance routine.

Project pricing depends on property size, site conditions, access, materials and the agreed scope. Changes to materials or work may change the price. Your quote confirms inclusions, disposal and applicable GST before work begins.

Can part of the yard remain natural grass?

Yes. Discuss the boundaries and intended uses of each area. A mixed landscape can be assessed without replacing every lawn surface.

Can turf be added during a patio project?

It can be discussed alongside related landscape work, with the chosen installation and transitions included in the proposal.
