Core aeration
Use a core aerator on the agreed accessible turf where soil and ground conditions suit the equipment. Small plugs left on the lawn are a normal part of this service; aeration is different from power raking.

Core lawn aeration for established lawns, with access and suitable ground conditions reviewed before service. Compare a standalone aeration visit with the aeration already included in an agreed Spring Cleanup.
Core aeration removes small plugs from suitable lawn areas. It can be booked as a focused lawn service or planned within Spring Cleanup, where aeration is already part of the standard scope when conditions allow.
Identify the turf to aerate, gate access, slopes and any irrigation or shallow private lines. We review ground conditions and whether standalone aeration or Spring Cleanup matches the work you need.
Use a core aerator on the agreed accessible turf where soil and ground conditions suit the equipment. Small plugs left on the lawn are a normal part of this service; aeration is different from power raking.
Plan the visit around suitable turf and soil conditions rather than a guaranteed calendar date. Saturated ground, hard soil, steep areas or limited access may affect the work. Mark known irrigation heads and shallow private features.
Core aeration is included with standard Spring Cleanup where conditions permit. Compare that scope before booking duplicate work. Overseeding, topdressing and sod replacement are separate enquiries with their own preparation and materials.
Request aeration when that is the work you want assessed. Share the lawn condition and accessible areas so we can review suitability and quote the visit without assuming a broader lawn treatment program.
Core aeration is part of the standard Spring Cleanup scope where conditions permit. If you are already arranging a cleanup, review that option first so related seasonal work is planned together rather than booked twice.
A core aerator removes small plugs from the turf, creating temporary openings in compacted soil. It can be useful where regular foot traffic or equipment has reduced air and water movement. It is not a cure for every thin lawn: shade, poor drainage, low fertility or inconsistent watering may be the main issue. We look at the site and recommend aeration as one part of a lawn plan when the conditions support it.
Cool-season turf recovers most readily when it is actively growing and the soil is moist enough for tines to penetrate without being saturated. University of Minnesota Extension discusses aeration as a way to address compaction and notes that spring work on soggy lawns can cause damage. A date booked far in advance may need to move with weather. The lawn should also be clear of small objects, and the customer should identify shallow irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, invisible fence wire or other hidden features.
The small soil plugs left by core aeration are normal and generally break down over time. The holes do not instantly turn a weak lawn green; watering, mowing and any seeding plan still matter. We clarify whether aeration is paired with a cleanup, overseeding or topdressing, because those are different scopes. Access width, steep slopes and hard ground can limit equipment use. For a recurring customer, a seasonal review can determine whether the lawn needs aeration that year rather than assuming it is mandatory annually.
Area, access, slopes and soil conditions influence the visit. Aeration and lawn renovation are different scopes, so tell us whether you are looking for a seasonal service or trying to address a larger lawn problem. Any seeding, soil work or replacement can be discussed and quoted separately.

Aeration removes soil plugs; power raking works at the turf surface. Compaction, excess thatch and bare patches may need different treatments.
Soil plugs left on the lawn are normal. Seeding and topdressing are separate services. If you have booked Spring Cleanup, check its included aeration before arranging another visit.
Standalone core lawn aeration starts at $149.99. The final price depends on the yard, including turf area, layout, access, slopes and conditions that affect the work.
Core aeration is also included in standard Spring Cleanup where conditions permit. Compare that scope before booking a separate aeration visit.
Published starting prices and minimum charges are subject to property size, layout, access, difficulty, condition and the work requested. Larger or more demanding properties, heavier buildup, additional areas and changes to the agreed scope may cost more. Your written quote confirms the final price, inclusions, disposal and applicable GST before approval.
