COMMERCIAL SNOW STORAGE

Snow Relocation & Hauling.

Snow-bank relocation and off-site hauling for commercial properties where piles restrict parking, visibility or working space. Review on-site storage first, then quote the equipment, loading and removal needed.

STORAGE / EQUIPMENT / ACCESS

Three ways to reclaim
working space.

Routine plowing moves snow into approved stacking areas. Over a long winter, those banks can consume parking stalls, narrow drive aisles, obstruct signage and sight lines or interfere with pedestrian routes. We review available room, access and equipment before quoting pushback, on-site relocation or off-site hauling. These operations receive their own scope and price alongside the routine plowing plan.

CHOOSE THE OPERATION / 01

Make space where it counts.

The right method depends on the property, remaining storage and where snow is permitted to go.

01 / REORGANIZE

Bank Pushback

Move an established bank farther into an approved stacking area when the property still has room. The work can restore a drive aisle or improve clearance near parking.

02 / MOVE ON SITE

On-Site Relocation

Use suitable equipment to transfer accumulated snow to another permitted part of the property. Access and the destination are planned before equipment arrives.

03 / REMOVE

Off-Site Hauling

Load snow with a skid steer or loader and transport it away by truck. Equipment time, truck capacity, approved disposal and volume shape the quote.

THE DETAILS

Review snow storage, relocation and hauling access.

Scope, service triggers and additional work are agreed in writing before winter.

Know when storage is becoming a problem

A site may lose customer parking gradually as piles spread through successive storms. Snow can also block signs, restrict sight lines, narrow access for deliveries or push pedestrians into vehicle routes. We look for these constraints before the next event rather than waiting until the property has no practical stacking room. Drainage, landscaped edges, fences and hidden features also affect where snow can safely be moved.

What pushback actually covers

Bank pushback uses equipment to shift an existing pile farther into an approved storage area. It may be useful when a bank has crept into parking or circulation space but the property still has available room. It is different from routine plowing of fresh accumulation and from hauling snow away. The quote identifies which banks, how much space can realistically be recovered and any access restrictions.

Move snow elsewhere on the site

On-site relocation transfers stored snow from a constrained area to a suitable location elsewhere on the same property. A skid steer, loader or other appropriate equipment may be needed depending on volume and access. The destination must be approved and should not create drainage, visibility or pedestrian problems. We confirm the route through the site, equipment availability and work area before pricing the operation.

Hauling snow off site

When no suitable storage remains, off-site hauling removes snow using loading equipment and trucks. The scope depends on pile size, truck access, labour, disposal arrangements and the number of loads. It is a more involved operation than an ordinary plow pass. We quote the work separately and coordinate the timing around site operations, parked vehicles and safe equipment movement.

Plan for the next snowfall

A storage review belongs in the winter plan, especially on small lots or sites with extensive sidewalks. A manager should know who can approve pushback or hauling and whether notice is needed before parking areas are temporarily closed. Records can show what was moved and what capacity remains. The monthly retainer and on-call plowing pages explain how routine visits operate; neither should be read as unlimited snow relocation.

QUESTIONS

Before service begins.

Does routine plowing include hauling?

No. Relocation and hauling are separately quoted unless expressly included in the commercial agreement.

What is the difference between pushback and hauling?

Pushback moves a bank into approved space on site. Hauling loads snow into trucks and removes it from the property.

Can I request this without a retainer?

Yes, subject to equipment and route capacity. We review the site, snow volume and access before quoting.

COMMERCIAL WINTER / JPPM

Request a Snow Storage Review

Send us the address, site layout, operating hours and the areas that need attention. We will review capacity and prepare a property-specific scope.

Request a commercial quote

JPPM maintains WCB-Alberta coverage and business insurance. Current coverage documentation is available on request for your contractor onboarding or property-management records.

SNOW SERVICE / REQUEST FORM

Tell us about your winter property.

Tell us the property type, opening or peak access hours, entrances, pedestrian areas and whether pre-opening service is required. We will review the address, route capacity, scope and timing before confirming service.

From your request to winter service

  1. Your request enters our customer management system and you receive a confirmation email.
  2. We review the property and route availability, then email a quote for approval. Some properties need an in-person assessment. An automatic follow-up is sent three days after the quote.
  3. Approval notifies our team so we can set up your ongoing service plan.

Snow visit notifications are sent on the morning of service. After clearing is completed, we email a visit report with photos. These notifications keep you informed; clearing follows your agreed service timing. Residential routes use the 10 AM rule, while commercial timing reflects the approved site plan.
